Held for the first time in Hong Kong, WAN-IFRA’s premier conference in the Asia-Pacific region gathered over 400 media executives from 29 countries. SPH Digital strengthens its ad offering

SPH Digital, a new division of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), introduced in May SPH’s comprehensive suite of digital advertising solutions across its portfolio of online media properties.

Stepping in content marketing

Recognising the increasing popularity of content marketing, SPH has recently set up a Content Studio to give brands different means of communicating with their target groups. Experienced journalists work with advertisers to repackage relevant content from SPH’s extensive archives, create bespoke content and draw on brand-owned content. These are then propagated across premium SPH digital assets in the form of native advertisements – they sit alongside editorial stories but are flagged out clearly as sponsored content.

Oita Godo orders 2 Mitsubishi presses

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Printing & Packaging Machinery (MHI) announced a contract signing with Oita Godo Shimbun Inc. for the purchase of two Mitsubishi 4 x 1 DIAMONDSPIRIT newspaper offset presses. The new presses are scheduled for delivery in 2015 and will be housed in the publisher’s new printing center in Oita, Kyushu.

Global media owner advertising revenues will grow by 6.4% in 2014 to $516 billion according to MAGNA GLOBAL’s latest study. The media investment firm forecasts that of the $31bn of additional advertising spend expected in 2014, almost 60% will come from North America and Emerging Asia.
